How We Rank

hr
As a formal 2011 entrant in the bioenergy field
represents a new era
in truly ADVANCED clean technology.
hr The ADVANTAGES are substantial and clear:
Advanced CleanPetroleum™ with the same molecular composition as traditional petroleum.
Distributed through the current petroleum infrastructure (pipelines, trucks, pump stations).
Used 100% interchangeably with gasoline and diesel in ALL cars, buses, trucks, trains and planes.1
A net positive producer of clean electricity – with over 80% of what we produce sold to the grid.
One of the world's first true integrated BioRefineries, as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy.2
Converts lignocellulosic 3 biomass feedstock from forestry, agriculture and urban-derived waste.
Converts mixed garbage and non-biogenic solid waste including tires, foams, and ALL plastics.
A FUEL conversion efficiency that ensures profitability at market prices as low as $30 a barrel oil.
An ELECTRICITY conversion efficiency outperforming wind, geothermal, hydro, and solar.4
One of the cleanest CARBON NEUTRAL facilities on the globe, with ZERO stack emissions.5

  2. DOE definition of an Integrated Biorefinery: "Biorefineries are similar to petroleum refineries in concept; however, biorefineries use biological matter (as opposed to petroleum or other fossil sources) to produce clean transportation fuels, chemicals, heat and power."

  3. Cellulosic: Cellulose is the structural component of the primary cell wall of green plants, (including many forms of algae.) Cellulose is the most common organic compound on Earth. About 33 percent of all plant matter is cellulose (the cellulose content of cotton is 90 percent and that of wood is 50 percent).

  5. Zero stack emissions explained: XFuels' Cleantech Refinery™ sequesters (captures) all emissions which might reasonably pass through a stack, chimney, vent or other functionally-equivalent opening. The XFuels Cleantech Refinery™ does emit standard "fugitive emissions", defined by the EPA in the regulations promulgated under title V as "those emissions which could not reasonably pass through a stack, chimney, vent, or other functionally-equivalent opening" (see title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, sections 70.2 and 71.2).
