The Future Is XPetroleum™
XFuels believes the best possible alternative to petroleum is XPetroleum™ (a.k.a. CleanPetroleum™). The Company's proprietary XRefinery™ platform converts the broadest possible range of carbon-bearing materials on the planet into a premium synthesis gas, which is then converted into pure "drop-in" gasoline and diesel molecules (C5+ liquid hydrocarbons – previously only refined from traditional fossil fuels) and electricity.
XFuels patented technology produces 80 grams of C5+ liquid hydrocarbons from 1 cubic meter of synthesis gas, with the following fractions in percentage of weight:
Hydrocarbon
Production Fractions
(in percentage of weight)
CH4 (methane) 11%
C2 - C4 (LPG) 10%
C5 - C10 (Gasoline) 27%
C11 - C20 (Diesel) 31%
C21+ (wax) 21%
XPetroleum™ Property Comparison
XFuels technology is attractive because it produces a "petroleum-equivalent replacement," at a cost competitive with (and cleaner than) traditional fossil fuel. Our XPetroleum™ chemicals and fuels are clean-burning, environmentally friendly, and compatible with existing fuel distribution facilities and standard engine applications. Because XFuels converts biomass (and any other carbon-bearing material) into superior fuel gas as a middle-feedstock, the final product is a fully saturated, highly paraffinic material with virtually no sulfur, no aromatics and – in the case of our fuels – an extremely high Octane/Cetane number. This results in the production of a very stable commercial product with a significant reduction in NOx (Nitrous Oxides, NO, NO2), SOx (Sulfur Oxides, SO), and particle matter when combusted, with better efficiency.
XPetroleum™ Fuels include both carbon-neutral and carbon-negative blends of the following fuels:
- Synthetic Natural Gas
- Gasoline
- Jet Fuel
- Diesel Fuel
- Heating Fuel
- Methanol
- Dimethyl Ether
- Higher Alcohols
XPetroleum™ Chemicals
When considering petroleum, most people often think only about the price and supply of gasoline, diesel fuel, and heating oil. However, up to 30% of all oil produced becomes chemical building blocks for other consumer and business products – everything from synthetic fibers for clothes, to ingredients for cleaning supplies (including laundry detergent), to plastics for drink containers, to medical supplies, toys, etc.
Petroleum is often credited as the "Mother of all Commodities" because of its importance in the manufacture of a wide variety of materials – with an estimated 90% of all manufactured goods purchased in the U.S. containing petrochemicals. Extraction, transportation, refining, and consumption of this volume of petroleum products contributes substantial pollution to the environment.
CleanPetroleum™ Industrial Chemicals produced by XFuels provide a clean "bio" alternative, able to replace the traditional petrochemicals used in thousands of products, including:
- Plastics: Bags, toys, food packaging, kitchenware, storage, etc.
- Personal Care: Soap, lip balm, skin moisturizer, hair dye, etc.
- Polycarbonate: Lenses in eye glasses, viewers, etc.
- Synthetic fibers: Acetate, acrylic, latex, nylon, polyester, rayon, spandex, etc.
- Synthetic Rubber: Elastic, polyurathane, neophrene, etc.
- Cleaning Supplies: Laundry detergent, etc.
- Paraffin wax: Candles, coatings, crayons, etc.
- Lubricants: Machine oil, motor oil, grease, etc.
- Coatings: Laminate, wire covering, etc.
- Inks: For printers, fax machines, etc.
- And thousands more...
CleanPetroleum™ chemicals produced by XFuels are broadly grouped in 5 key sectors, and include:
